One of the earliest tracks in the country to open, the Scottish town of Carfin, a short distance from Motherwell, had a greyhound track which was situated at 3° 57' W 55° 48' N and first opened for racing in 1927. The track had a circumference of 440 yards, with Sprints run over 300 yards, Standard Races over 510 and 580 ards, and Distance races over 790 yards. |

| The track closed for the final time in 1999 and the site on which the former track once stood is now covered by a housing estate. |
